Mosaic Church is a non-denominational church in Austin, Texas that exists in a multiethnic and multigenerational context. It has been in operation for 25 years and has a core focus of community.

Concept

An End for a Beginning

The desire was to have an experience that performed three tasks: concluded an 8-week apologetics focused series entitled, “What About”, promoted a stand alone message entitled, “The Great Exchange”, and introduced the upcoming series entitled, “How to Follow Jesus Christ” which would be a 10-week focus on the apostle Peter.

Something New for Something Unexpected

After researching available technology, we spent three weeks learning and designing a show using a Lightform AR projector, After Effects, and music from MusicBed. We then adjusted the design of the show to fit the churches available space and simplified the tech support so it could be easily operated by the churches production staff and volunteers. Finally used the rest of our time to polish the performance.

Result

The Light for Darkness

On Easter of 2021, we performed a live, 3d-projected experience. The experience was easily reset and performed three times.
